Monsoon season in Nepal normally starts from June to August making most of the trekking routes wet. There are some rain shadow sections in the Himalayas, relatively a dry area on the leeward side of a mountain ranges which blocks the monsoon, where the trekking in monsoon season in Nepal is equally beautiful and wonderful experience. The great thing about the monsoon trekking in Nepal are less crowded trekking trails and valleys are in blooms with flowers and lush vegetative an off course lively villagers working around the fields. One needs to be selective in choosing the trekking route while making the plan of trekking in the month of June, July and August. We recommend doing the Upper Mustang, Upper Dolpo. Annapurna circuit or even the Everest base camp trekking in Nepal as it won’t rain much there even in the monsoon time. Ideally speaking monsoon season in the best time to do the Upper Mustang trek.
