| I
have now completed four separate treks
with Mountain Monarch. They have been
fantastic in every respect. All of
the staff have been very helpful and
extremely friendly. I have found the
trek leaders to be extremely knowledgeable
and well able to cope with any problems
that crop up, medical or anything
else. They have organised bespoke
trips for me with groups ranging in
size from 2 to 11 people. I can’t
praise them highly enough or recommend
them too highly.

fun-loving, knowledgeable, and extremely
supportive. We would highly recommend

Trek - December 2008 |
I
wanted to write to you to say how
much I enjoyed my recent trek to Everest
Base Camp with Mountain Monarch Adventures.
Much of this was down to the professional
organization by Mountain Monarch and
in particular the excellent staff
who worked with us. In particular
our head guide Buddha Tamang was outstanding
in his efforts to make our trip a
success, ably supported by his cheerful,
friendly and hardworking team of assistant
guides and porters. Not every group
we came across on the trek were as
well led as ours and I feel very fortunate
that we had Buddha to look after us!

Base Camp Trek Nov 2008 |
With
the help of Mountain Monarch, my wife
and I, 59 and 57, completed the Annapurna
Circuit trek in Nov 2008. The scenery
was spectacular, the cultures fascinating.
Mountain Monarch was wonderful. Our
guide Gyanendra and Phurba were true
professional but ended up being our
family. From brining tea first thing
in the morning, to taking care of
minor first aid, to monitoring food
preparation, they took care of us
every step. They shared their culture,
religion and beliefs, pointed out
things of interest and entertained
us. If there was a hazard on the trail,
they were right at our elbow to assist
if need be. I miss their companionship.
Our porters were amazing. Big loads,
steep hills, and always a smile on
their faces. I was impressed that
Mountain Monarch ensured that they
had all the equipments they needed
to keep them safe and warm. Pradip
kept in contact with us from beginning
to end, answering our questions and
insuring that our needs were meet.
He took us on our unforgettable tour
of Kathmandu.
I initially was
impressed with Mountain Monarch’s
website, the feedback, the endorsement
for Lonely Planed. I was probably
most impressed with how reasonable
their prices were, but I was a little
worried that the prices were too good.
No need for worry. We stayed in the
same quality of rooms and ate the
same quality of food and received
the same if not the better guide service
than those trekkers on the same route
that were paying 2 -3 times as much.
I wholeheartedly endorse Mountain
Monarch. If I am ever fortunate enough
to return to Nepal, I will look no
furthers. Thank you Mountain Monarch
for the trip of a lifetime.

Annapurna Circuit
Trek – Nov 2008 |
Our
family of four, two of us in our early
fifties and our two 20-year-old sons
have just returned from completing
the ‘Everest Circuit’
with Mountain Monarch.
The words ‘thank
you’ don’t seem sufficient
to extend our gratitude to Pradip
and his team for providing us with
an experience that will live long
into our memories. From the moment
we arrived at the airport until we
left 22 days later, we were made to
feel special and well cared for. We
experienced a few flight problems
due to the Bangkok protests and Pradip
handled the rearrangements smoothly.
We thoroughly enjoyed the city tour
and Nepalese cultural dinner that
was included.
Once on the trek, we soon discovered
that we had been blessed to be given
such knowledgeable and fun loving
guides and porters: Wangda, Tilak,
Ramesh, Dhane and Suresh. The service,
which they gave us far, exceeded our
expectations and I have no doubt we
were looked upon with envy from many
other trekkers. It was evident that
they were well respected by the local
Nepalese and this ensured that our
trip was also positively influenced.
Each morning we were brought a bowl
of washing water and tea by a smiling
face. Each meal we were assisted in
choosing from the menu. Every night
we were given a talk about the next
day’s adventures. While walking,
the guides spread themselves out in
order to cater for our different walking
speeds. My special thanks goes to
Ramesh who inevitably ensured that
‘ mum’ had many rest stops
and helped me through the tricky parts.
When we arrived at our evening stop,
we appreciated the efforts that had
been made to provide us with the ‘best
rooms of the house’. The porters
and guides were always courteous,
were informative about the mountains
and their people, and ALWAYS HAD A
SMILE on their face. Without their
support, I may never have had the
chance to experience such a sheer
sense of achievement. All ‘the
boys’, mine, and those from
the MM ‘family’ developed
a warm camaraderie. We cannot thank
our head guide, Wangda enough –
he worked tirelessly 24/7 to ensure
that we were happy, comfortable informed
and safe.
In regards to safety
and health, we felt comforted by the
fact that a first aid kit and portable
altitude chamber was carried with
us. Fortunately, and no doubt due
to MM’s proper planning, none
of us suffered any serious altitude
sickness (in fact no sickness at all
except the infamous Khumbu cough and
a few head colds).
At the completion
of the trek, it was indeed sad to
say goodbye to our new ‘family’.
Should we ever contemplate doing another
Nepalese trek, we will use Mountain
Monarch again and certainly recommend
their use by other prospective trekkers.
I think their success is due to the
perfect combination of professionalism
and personal touches.
Thank you once again to the whole
team!

I had a great time on our Annapurna
Circuit trek with Peter Bailey in
September. Your services and accommodations
in Kathmandu were excellent. The guides
(Netra, Omrit, and Namgel) are really
knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and friendly.
I learned a lot about Nepal and even
some Nepali from them and that made
the trip even better. Netra in particular
is very skilled as a guide and knows
his first aid. Without him I’m
not sure how well two of our party
would have fared.
When I return to Nepal for trekking
in the future I will use Mountain
Monarch and will always recommend
it to friends who plan to visit.

"Thank you very much for organising
a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding
trek to Kala Pattar and Everest Base
Camp. Mountain Monarch provided a
superb service, for a very reasonable
price. The equipment provided for
the trek was all of very high quality
and easily up to the tasks required
of it.
Additionally, the Mountain Monarch
guide, assistant guides and porters
showed true professionalism and dedication,
and provided an exemplary service
to us. I would happily trek with them
again (I'm already beginning to plan
my next trip to Nepal, and Mountain
Monarch will definitely be involved).”

We
very much enjoyed our experience with
Mountain Monarch, and the trek to
the Annapurna Base Camp was something
we shall always remember. We did some
research before choosing who to book
our trek through, and out of all the
companies we looked at online, Mountain
Monarch impressed us with the information
and recommendations on website and
for the experience offered for the
price. You were the most prompt to
reply to our initial enquiry, and
were consistently responsive and helpful
with all the many questions that followed
before we made the final booking!
The experience itself
was superb, and very well organised
from start to finish. We were very
impressed that Pradip himself came
to give the introductory talk, to
see us off on the trek and to welcome
us back again. We also really enjoyed
our excursions to Pashupatinath and
the Bodhnath stupa in Kathmandu before
the trek started, both good sites
to visit. The time in Kathmandu and
the welcome meal meant that the group
was able to bond before the trek started.
On the trek we could
not have been looked after better.
Subash and his team of assistant guides
and porters looked after our every
need with consideration, humour and
enthusiasm. From providing sufficient
supplies of drinking water and medicines
to encouraging everyone to find the
pace that suited them best, and securing
comfortable accommodation for our
group every night when some trekkers
with other companies ended up short
on beds, everything was handled efficiently
and smoothly. We were also very happy
to see that the wonderful porters
were looked after well and treated
with respect by the guides. We had
absolute faith that Mountain Monarch
would get us to ABC and back again
in one piece, and you, and the scenery
along the way, exceeded our expectations!
Thank you!

Having
done the Mera Peak last year I already
knew I could fully trust in MM Organizing
everything as smoothly as the as time,
and -needless to say- they did, too.
Starting with the bookings, always
got an answer in no time, getting
all the information I needed, thanks
Pradip, I really appreciate it!! Our
lovely porters with the smile on their
face no matter what...an inspiration
to anyone! Our guides...Dipak -warmhearted,
hard working always with a double
smile on his face!! And Dawa, our
leading guide, very dedicated to his
work, I was very impressed by that.
Always minding of his clients in the
uttermost warm and sympathetic way,
making sure everyone is enjoying himself.
With any health issues you could fully
trust in his knowledge and medicating
you in the best way. My special BIG
thanks for him organizing a high camp
for me at Lobuche when I found out
I couldn’t summit starting from
the base camp, with my present condition.
He immediately had a plan that allowed
me to try, all my grateful thanks
to him, I summited! Look no further;
these are the guys to go with.

Please express my gratitude to Sunil

So happy am I that I and some friends

I really have to thank you, Wengda,
Akur and the two boys for making it
such a memorable trip for us. The
equipment provided was very good,
the routes planned out just right
to suit our capability, and the guides
were extremely knowledgeable and informative.
Mountain Monarch are very well organised,
but more than that your guides took
a personal interest in us, ensuring
that we made the very most out of
our whole trip.
I would certainly recommend your company
to any of my friends and acquaintances
planning a trek in Nepal, and would
be happy to be a reference for any
prospective clients (and if they are
from Singapore I would be pleased
to meet them personally and show them
the great photos of our trip).

Pradip, I must thank you and the team,
namely Subash and Yugal as well as
the other guides and porters, for
all the excellent arrangements and
experiences I had on the Annapurna
Sanctuary Trek.
This is one of the most professionally
organised treks I have undertaken,
almost a luxury, given the way your
team treated the group. We were fortunate
to have a guide run ahead and arrange
the accommodations for us during this
peak period, and I had any sympathies
for the groups and individuals who
did not manage so well as we did.
But mostly, I would like to thank
your team for the excellent support
they gave me during the trek, given
my phobia for heights. I do not think
I could have managed that one tricky
bridge, as well as the steeper climbs
without their watchfulness and guidance.
I am almost tempted to repeat the
experience next year with the Everest
Base Camp trek.
And I do know I will return to Mountain
Monarch when i make my way there again.
Although there are many companies
out there, I am most comfortable with
MM, especially in the design of the
agenda and the many arrangements,
the wise group selection (I really
enjoyed being with the group I was
with!), and all the attention your
team gave to every member of the trekking
group! I was also extremely impressed
with the care given to the porters
and the other guides throughout the
trek, and Subash's constant medical
assistance to the villages en-route
was a humane gesture that makes me
admire MM all the more. Well done,
and many thanks once again for a most
awesome and exhilarating experience!

I found the services that Mountain

standard, and the staff to be both
courteous and helpful. I particularly
would like to thank Sunil and Morti
for their encouragement and light
hearted humour when the going got
tough, it was very much appreciated.
I have no hesitation in recommending
your services to anyone contemplating
