We follow the footsteps of legendary mountaineers: Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa in our adventure trek to Everest base camp and Kalapathar. To start the teahouse Everest base camp kalapathar trekking we take an exciting flight to the Lukla airstrip - the gateway of Everest region walking holiday trips. Hiking along the Dudh Khosi valley leads us to Namche Bazzar, the Sherpa heartland, nestling in a horseshoe-shaped bowl surrounded by forested ridges and snow-capped peaks. We witness and explore into the lives and culture of the Sherpa people and Buddhist monasteries with the views of Everest getting closer every day. Unlike other adventure companies, we hike up less trodden, different and longer route to Dingboche, a village set next to the incredibly beautiful peak of Amadablam via Khumjung, Monla and Phortse villages for proper acclimatisation and no doubt bonus exploration on our way up to Mt. Everest base camp. The alpine sceneries become more rugged as we trek above the tree line on the Khumbu glacier moraines to Lobuche and then Gorak Shep, the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. We climb up the Kalapathar peak at the height of 5545 meters, an experience never to be forgotten. Outline Itinerary of Everest Base Camp Trek
Day 01 : Arrive Kathmandu / Nepali dinner with ethnic cultural program.Day 02 : Cultural tours to Buddhist Shrine and Hindu Cremation site / Trek preparation.
Day 03-04 : Fly to Lukla and trek to Namche, first majestic views of Mt. Everest.
Day 05-06 : Trek to Khumjung after an acclimatization rest day at Namche.
Day 07 : Hike to Photse via Monla, on the way to Gokyo valley.
Day 08-09 : Walking to Dingboche, above tree line / exploration day.
Day 10 : Trek to Lobuche with extraordinary scenery.
Day 11 : Hiking continues to Gorak Shep. Kalapathar trek for the best views of Mount Everest, Nuptse and parade of peaks.
Day 12-15 : Everest Base Camp trekking and Retrace trek to Lukla.
Day 16-17 : Fly to Kathmandu / Explore or free day in Kathmandu.
Day 18 : Everest base camp Kalapathar trip ends in Kathmandu / Airport transportation.

I had a great time on my trek to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patar. Karma was an excellent guide. I especially like the fact that he set a slow pace so that everyone could keep up and acclimate easily. His knowledge of the mountains, Nepal history, and Buddhist culture really added to the enjoyment of the trek. Most important was the emphasis on safety and his knowledge of altitude sickness and other potential problems, which made us extremely happy to have selected such a professional company. Namaste Pradip, I am writing to let you know that a fantastic trek I had with your company and especially the great job of our guide Ngima Sarki Sherpa in getting me to Mt. Everest base camp. This adventure was my seventieth birthday present to myself and because of your company and Ngima outstanding guide skills, it was a complete success!Ngima was very professional and knowledgeable in so many aspect of trekking. For example, when we got to the higher altitudes, I lost my appetite and could not eat. He always watched over my meals, persuaded me to try to eat a little more, or to take a few more bites, and son ensured that I could keep up my strength for climbing and trekking.Also I was a little self - conscious about slipping on rocks and falling, so I was being extra careful as we went up steep ascents or down deep descents. Ngima stayed by my side, sometimes holding my arms, helping me cross wet rocks in streams and assisting me when climbing was very difficult to over loose rocks, When needed, he would have his assistance guide or porter help me as well.My friend trekking with me got headache as we gained higher altitude and Ngima was right there to help and he know just what to do , making sure she was warm and drinking enough water. She also got sick after eating some food and he watched after her and gave her medicines to ensure she could continue the trek. He studies a lot of different subjects to prepare him to assist trekkers and I feel very lucky that I had someone so knowledgeable for my guide on the trek to Everest base camp.The assistant guide Nuru and the porter Pasang were also very friendly, caring and incredibly helpful. Ngima management to them and their individual enthusiasm and professionalism, made this trek run very smoothly no matter what circumstances we encountered: rain, sickness, forgotten pieces or gear or difficult terrain.When I trek again, I will absolutely use Mountain Monarch as well as ask for Ngima as my guide. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience

As you know, at Pheriche, Himalayan Rescue Association diagnosed me with High altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE), with 60% O2. After 2 hours of O2 supply and Diamox medication, they discharged me. With Karma and his team continuous monitoring and supply of O2, I was able to make it to Everest Base Camp. We also decided to descend from Kalapathar wisely. Balancing the act of knowing what is possible or what is not, responsible decision making is what sets MMA apart. Allison and I joined Mountain Monarch for 6 weeks in Nepal. Our Everest Base Camp Trek was OUTSTANDING----------- I was extremely impressed with our guide English and his knowledge of the area. He really loves Nepal and took the time to show us so many things that the average trekkers over never gets to see. Like most AMERICANS we are concerned about the political unrest and the ongoing Maoist problems. There are NO Maoist in the Everest region and that area should be considered totally safe for tourists. ---------We also joined Mountain Monarch for an attempt of Island peak climbing; the Climbing Sherpas were exceptionally professional and treated us to a day of ice climbing. ------Overall I was 100% satisfied with Mountain Monarch, they treated us well and I will return again.

We were new to Everest trek in Nepal. In fact it was our first time in that part of trek although we are experienced in Hong Kong and China. My wife Galia searched for a company that is reliable for our team of four so that at least we are safe to trek on Nepal. There are thousand trekking companies in Nepal, providing similar services. Out of hunch, we chose Mountain Monarch because their recent listing with Lonely Planet and reasonable price. Our experience with Mountain Monarch is absolutely out of this world. Our guides are very professional and personable. In the trip, they took to the fine details and let us feel safe and relaxed. They provided us with much needed mental preparations that were essential for us as not-so-experienced trekkers. We really enjoyed the time in the mountain, in particular Kala Pathar where I celebrated my 50th birthday, a very memorable one indeed, really top of the world feeling. We were lucky to have all places visited right on time, almost achieved the perfect timing. You guys have been given us the best time possibly in a country where we have little knowledge.
