Everest Base Camp Heli Trek with Helicopter Return

This Everest Base Camp Heli Trek is the shortest one to the base camp of Mt. Everest. It is 12 days specially designed trek with a Helicopter ride out. We know trekkers wish to stand at the Base Camp of Everest, and unfortunately, many can't afford the time. This short EBC trek with Heli ride out make it possible in less than two weeks. We don't need to worry about Lukla's flight as we fly out on Helicopter. This makes the enjoyable adventure to the base camp.

Lukla to Base Camp of Everest Route

We fly to Lukla to start the Everest Base Camp Heli trek. We hike to Namche via Phakding and Manjo. We spend two nights at Namche for proper acclimation. We explore the vastness of Thyangboche monastery on the way to Dingboche. This village nestles in the sunny valley facing the most beautiful peak of Amadablam. Another great place to spend two nights to adjust to the thinner oxygen.

The alpine landscape becomes more rugged as we climb above the tree line on moraines to Gorak Shep via Lobuche. Walking to EBC over the Khumbu glacier moraines can be challenging. But it offers a tremendous reward of a great sense of achievement. If you have ever longed to set eyes on the highest Himalayan panorama and stunning glaciers around you, the view from Kalapathar will stay with you forever.

On return, we spent a night at Pheriche before taking the Helicopter ride out. We return by Helicopter from Pheriche to Kathmandu via Lukla. Undoubtedly one of the most scenic Heli rides amid the spectacular valleys and stunning peaks. A great experience of a lifetime, never to be forgotten.

Short Everest Base Camp Heli Trek with Style and Comfort

We stay at a deluxe hotel in Kathmandu. Lodges with attached bathrooms at most places as available on a trek. A reliable and medically trained guide leads your journey to EBC. We ensure the Oxygen cylinder and medical kit for safety. We have enough trek crew to support this Everest base camp Heli Trek. This short 12 days EBC trek with Helicopter return suits best for family and friends who have less than two weeks for EBC.

wonderful EBC trek with Heli ride out

I traveled in a group of 7 total, with ages ranging from 38 to 56. We all completed the trek to Everest Base Camp and returned hike to Pheriche, where we took a helicopter back to Kathmandu. The entire trip was stress-free, thanks to our excellent guides and porters. All our accommodations and meals on the trek were included, and arrangements to visit cultural sites along the way, such as a Buddhist monastery in Tengboche and the Sherpa Culture Museum near Namche Bazaar. I would 100% recommend Mountain Monarchs for this trek, and they will be the first place I look to if we decide to return to do another trek in this region.

Everest Base Camp Helicopter Trek Everything We Had Hoped For!

My son and I just returned from the Everest Base Camp Heli Trek, and we have nothing but glowing praise for Mountain Monarch and the team that led and supported us. Before the trek, Pradip quickly responded to our questions and gave solid advice. For example, when I informed him of the flight we were planning, he told me that the Kathmandu airport would be closed at our scheduled arrival time. A Google search confirmed the closure. I don’t understand how a major airline could schedule a flight during a planned airport closure, but I’m glad that Pradip caught it. He advised us well on other items as well.

The hotel in Kathmandu before and after the trek was very western and served a wide variety of western and other dishes. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Every aspect of the trek itself was exactly as advertised. Our leading guide, Dawa, and his assistant, Bhutan (maybe misspelled), were highly attentive to our needs. They monitored us closely for any signs of altitude sickness, ensured that we carried enough filtered water and that we were drinking it, helped us to choose safe menu items at meals, and explained very clearly what to expect regarding the next day’s trek; a bonus was listening to them talk about their own lives in Nepal. I have to laud the porters as well. While we carried just light packs containing what we needed for the day, they took our large duffel bags, which were always awaiting us in our rooms at the end-of-day tea house. Whenever we saw the porters, they were pleasantly smiling and encouraged us.

Frankly, I had been a little nervous about the helicopter, knowing what complex pieces of machinery they were. Still, the helicopter that picked us up looked new, was clean, appeared well-maintained, and was professionally piloted. Moreover, it was a pleasant flight that gave us excellent views of the mountains and countryside.

Hats off to Mountain Monarch! If I am fortunate enough to return to Nepal, I won’t even bother researching other companies.

                            Truly Memorable Journey

Our Nov 2013 trek to EBC was a truly memorable journey that will stay with us for a lifetime. Pradip and his team at Mountain Monarch did an incredible job from our first inquiries until our farewell at KTM. We were very fortunate to have the support of a wonderful Guide (Sunil) and Asst Guide (DK) and three incredible (and strong!) porters, Santosh, Purna, and Tek. The scenery was incredible, and the care and attention afforded us by Sunil and DK every step of the way was exceptional. We feel very fortunate to have experienced and learned so much about Nepal's wonderful people and culture. Thanks for a fantastic journey, Mountain Monarch!
