Everest may be considered the most important expedition for every mountain climber.It was even more important for our team, as we were the first Albanians, ever to attempt it. I really can not praise Mountain Monarch too highly for the infrastructure, support and organization of this trek - the Everest Circuit, including the crossing of the Cho La. The whole thing was excellent, right from the moment we got out of Kathmandu airport to be met by Pradip the boos of the company, (very patient, in view of the long delay in our getting visas), and being whisked to our comfortable four star hotel. The optional sightseeing tour conducted by Pradip in Kathmandu the following day was great for getting our bearings and the briefing by our guides, Sunil and Gi was friendly and efficient. Reaching Lukla, we met up with our stalwart Sherpa, Ujul, and our three friendly porters, without whom we simply could not have done it. Sunil was a brilliant guide, as well as a wizard at card games and tricks! But more important, his medical /first aid training, which I gather is a major priority for all Mountain Monarch guides, was tremendously important to the success of the trek. Whatever stomach afflictions people in our group had, they were always better and ready to walk by the next morning and i am pretty sure that for two of us who suffered mild altitude sickness, being put in the gamma bag (oxygen chamber) was crucial for the continuation of the trek to the higher altitudes and over the Cho La. So many thanks to Mountain Monarch I am definitely hooked on Nepal trekking now, would very much like to do more, and would definitely go with Mountain Monarch again ideally with exactly the same guides, Sherpa and porters!

Our family of four, two of us in our early fifties and our two 20-year-old sons have just returned from completing the Everest Circuit with Mountain Monarch. The words thank you do not seem sufficient to extend our gratitude to Pradip and his team for providing us with an experience that will live long into our memories. From the moment we arrived at the airport until we left 22 days later, we were made to feel special and well cared for. We experienced a few flight problems due to the Bangkok protests and Pradip handled the rearrangements smoothly. We thoroughly enjoyed the city tour and Nepalese cultural dinner that was included.Once on the trek, we soon discovered that we had been blessed to be given such knowledgeable and fun loving guides and porters: Wangda, Tilak, Ramesh, Dhane and Suresh. The service, which they gave us far, exceeded our expectations and I have no doubt we were looked upon with envy from many other trekkers. It was evident that they were well respected by the local Nepalese and this ensured that our trip was also positively influenced.Each morning we were brought a bowl of washing water and tea by a smiling face. Each meal we were assisted in choosing from the menu. Every night we were given a talk about the nextday adventures. While walking, the guides spread themselves out in order to cater for our different walking speeds. My special thanks goes to Ramesh who inevitably ensured that mum had many rest stops and helped me through the tricky parts. When we arrived at our evening stop, we appreciated the efforts that had been made to provide us with the best rooms of the house. The porters and guides were always courteous, were informative about the mountains and their people, and ALWAYS HAD A SMILE on their face. Without their support, I may never have had the chance to experience such a sheer sense of achievement. All the boys, mine, and those from the MM family developed a warm camaraderie. We cannot thank our head guide, Wangda enough he worked tirelessly 24/7 to ensure that we were happy, comfortable informed and safe.In regards to safety and health, we felt comforted by the fact that a first aid kit and portable altitude chamber was carried with us. Fortunately, and no doubt due to MMA proper planning, none of us suffered any serious altitude sickness (in fact no sickness at all except the infamous Khumbu cough and a few head colds).At the completion of the trek, it was indeed sad to say goodbye to our new family. Should we ever contemplate doing another Nepalese trek, we will use Mountain Monarch again and certainly recommend their use by other prospective trekkers. I think their success is due to the perfect combination of professionalism and personal touches.Thank you once again to the whole team!

Trust them. Great service, great trek. We thought hard before going with Mountain Monarch. Can we trust a local Nepal company? Can they provide good services when they charge less than half of what US, Canadian or Australians charge? The answer is yes on both counts.Mountain Monarch provided everything that their web site promised for the price that was advertised. We booked out trek six months in advance for a set US dollar rate and made a $200 deposit. The exchange rate changed considerably in our favor by the time we paid the balance, and Mountain Monarch honored the originally quoted US dollar price with no question.The service provided by Pradip the owner, Dawa the guide and the porters was exceptional. We chose to alter our plans by doing the Everest Circuit Trek in reverse and by speeding up our return from the top so that we could spend some time on a beach in Thailand, and Mountain Monarch accommodated us totally.We stayed at the same hotels as Peregrine and Mountain Madness. Their food looked a bit better than ours -we ordered off the menus while their groups got custom-made meals - but not thousands of dollars better! I am a fairly big eater and Dawa always made sure that I had all I wanted to eat.Our guide readily shared with us his good knowledge of trekking, diet, local customs and local shopping. His method of hiking up hills was very efficient, he kept us away from unhygienic meats, he explained the peaceful Buddhist ways, and he showed us where to shop in Namche and what a fair price was.We would not hesitate to use Mountain Monarch again. We chose Mountain Monarch primarily because they were a local company and plenty of time was allocated to allow for acclimatization. Unlike some other companies MM allowed plenty of time to acclimatize which therefore maximized our chances of a successful trek and climb. The trek and climb were well organized and the equipment provided (4-season sleeping bag, 2 man tent, ice axe, etc.) was more than adequate. Whilst trekking we stayed in tea houses, which were mostly of a high standard and were clean and comfortable. Food was good and there was plenty of it. We followed our guides advice avoided certain foods and as a result experienced no stomach complaints. During the climb of Chulu West we moved away from the main trekking route and we stayed in tents. We had an excellent cook and assistant who produced a variety of tasty meals. Our climbing Sherpa Sange was a great character with many years experience. He ensured that our climb went without incident and it was a real pleasure to spend time with him. Dawa, our guide, looked after our daily needs and ensured that our trekking was hassle free. Our MM crews were a great bunch who looked after us well. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Nepal and wouldn\'t hesitate to recommend Mountain Monarch to others.

I especially like the fact that he set a slow pace so that everyone could keep up and acclimate easily. Namaste Pradip, I am writing to let you know that a fantastic trek I had with your company and especially the great job of our guide Ngima Sarki Sherpa in getting me to Mt. Everest base camp. This adventure was my seventieth birthday present to myself and because of your company and Ngima outstanding guide skills, it was a complete success!Ngima was very professional and knowledgeable in so many aspect of trekking. For example, when we got to the higher altitudes, I lost my appetite and could not eat. He always watched over my meals, persuaded me to try to eat a little more, or to take a few more bites, and son ensured that I could keep up my strength for climbing and trekking.Also I was a little self - conscious about slipping on rocks and falling, so I was being extra careful as we went up steep ascents or down deep descents. Ngima stayed by my side, sometimes holding my arms, helping me cross wet rocks in streams and assisting me when climbing was very difficult to over loose rocks, When needed, he would have his assistance guide or porter help me as well.My friend trekking with me got headache as we gained higher altitude and Ngima was right there to help and he know just what to do , making sure she was warm and drinking enough water. She also got sick after eating some food and he watched after her and gave her medicines to ensure she could continue the trek. He studies a lot of different subjects to prepare him to assist trekkers and I feel very lucky that I had someone so knowledgeable for my guide on the trek to Everest base camp.The assistant guide Nuru and the porter Pasang were also very friendly, caring and incredibly helpful. Ngima management to them and their individual enthusiasm and professionalism, made this trek run very smoothly no matter what circumstances we encountered: rain, sickness, forgotten pieces or gear or difficult terrain.When I trek again, I will absolutely use Mountain Monarch as well as ask for Ngima as my guide. As you know, at Pheriche, Himalayan Rescue Association diagnosed me with High altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE), with 60% O2. After 2 hours of O2 supply and Diamox medication, they discharged me. We were new to Everest trek in Nepal. In fact it was our first time in that part of trek although we are experienced in Hong Kong and China. Our guides are very professional and personable. In the trip, they took to the fine details and let us feel safe and relaxed. They provided us with much needed mental preparations that were essential for us as not-so-experienced trekkers. My wife and I have made three treks in Nepal, two with Mountain Monarch Adventures. We are planning others, and they will definitely be with Mountain Monarch as well. Our last trek, on the Annapurna Circuit, was most unusual for several reasons. We were celebrating our seventieth birthdays and our fiftieth wedding anniversary all at once. The guides from MMA made it all very wonderful. They arranged for us to use the Manang Gompa to renew our wedding vows, and they put on a party for us at the Hotel Yak afterwards. As if this were not enough to set it apart from every other trip we have ever done, I also arranged for an extra porter to carry an inexpensive digital x-ray system and to help me test it at several clinics along the route. My dream is to bring digital radiology and telemedicine to many of the remote clinics and hospitals in Nepal, and Mountain Monarch is fully committed to helping me make it happen. We have done many treks around the world, but MMA is far and away the best company we have ever worked with. Pradip and his team Subash, Narendra, Phurba, Gyanendra and the others are outstanding people and good friends, and we look forward to seeing all of them again in the near future.

With the help of Mountain Monarch, my wife and I, 59 and 57, completed the Annapurna Circuit trek in Nov 2008. The scenery was spectacular, the cultures fascinating. Mountain Monarch was wonderful. Our guide Gyanendra and Phurba were true professional but ended up being our family. From brining tea first thing in the morning, to taking care of minor first aid, to monitoring food preparation, they took care of us every step. They shared their culture, religion and beliefs, pointed out things of interest and entertained us. If there was a hazard on the trail, they were right at our elbow to assist if need be. I miss their companionship. Our porters were amazing. Big loads, steep hills, and always a smile on their faces. I was impressed that Mountain Monarch ensured that they had all the equipments they needed to keep them safe and warm. Pradip kept in contact with us from beginning to end, answering our questions and insuring that our needs were meet. He took us on our unforgettable tour of Kathmandu.I initially was impressed with Mountain Monarch website, the feedback, the endorsement for Lonely Planed. I was probably most impressed with how reasonable their prices were, but I was a little worried that the prices were too good. No need for worry. We stayed in the same quality of rooms and ate the same quality of food and received the same if not the better guide service than those trekkers on the same route that were paying 2 -3 times as much.I wholeheartedly endorse Mountain Monarch. Although the four of us had never trekked with MMA before, (using UK based companies previously) from our initial and tentative enquiries Pradip provided all of the answers and assurances that prompted us to cost effectively book the Annapurna Circuit trek in October 2009. From the time of our arrival in Kathmandu, all of our transfers, additional flights and hotel arrangements worked out very well, right down to our departure too. It was good to stay at the Shanker hotel in Kathmandu before and after the trek.Yugal the guide and his support team were very good, helpful, knowledgeable and supportive. The trek itself was a fantastic experience, with very good trekking days and stunning and varied scenery, which rates alongside Everest Base Camp trek for us. Despite wanting to go camping initially, the tea house experience proved to be better for us all (despite the difficulty in securing some accommodation because of the popularity of the circuit trek), generally staying at very friendly and welcoming tea houses. Pradip recommendation for an extra day in Pokhara was well worth it too.In summary, we would definitely recommend MMA and use them again. Our only problem is finding a trek to rival the Annapurna Circuit.

We were fortunate to have a guide run ahead and arrange the accommodations for us during this peak period, and I had any sympathies for the groups and individuals who did not manage so well as we did.But mostly, I would like to thank your team for the excellent support they gave me during the trek, given my phobia for heights. I do not think I could have managed that one tricky bridge, as well as the steeper climbs without their watchfulness and guidance. I am almost tempted to repeat the experience next year with the Everest Base Camp trek.And I do know I will return to Mountain Monarch when i make my way there again. Although there are many companies out there, I am most comfortable with MM, especially in the design of the agenda and the many arrangements, the wise group selection (I really enjoyed being with the group I was with!), and all the attention your team gave to every member of the trekking group! I was also extremely impressed with the care given to the porters and the other guides throughout the trek, and Subash constant medical assistance to the villages en-route was a humane gesture that makes me admire MM all the more. During my Mera Peak expedition in spring 2007 Mountain Monarch trip arrangements were extremely good. In my Mera Peak expedition the guide and the team were very professional. The food was very tasty. A hungry is unknown matter if you use Mountain Monarch service. Also I have to say that I had not any stomach problems during expedition.Mountain Monarch services in Katmandu were according to itinerary and timetables without any delays etc. It was quite miracle in Katmandu traffic. I, Mark Squirrell, along with three other friends, employed the services of Mountain Monarch to guide and support our efforts to climb Imja Tse (Island Peak) in the Solo Khumbu District of Nepal. Mountain Monarch provided pre mission advice, catering, accommodation, training and guiding in order to allow our team to reach the summit of the 6189-meter peak. The quality of service provided by the Mountain Monarch staff was extremely high and of a professional standard. In particular they showed immense care and motivation towards our endeavor to reach the top. Without their help and guidance it is clear that we would not have all made it to the top. I recommend Mountain Monarch to any individual or group that may wish to climb Imja Tse or similar such mountains.

I wanted to express my thanks to all at Mountain Monarch for the excellent service you gave to Nadine and me on our recent Island Peak trek. As you know I experienced a severe case of High Altitude Cerebral Edema at Gorak Shep and had to be put in the Portable Altitude Oxygen Chamber for number of hours, before descending the next morning. The quick actions of the trek leader and other MM staff, perhaps Saved my life. They are all a credit to your company. I would have no hesitation in using MM again in any future trip to Nepal, perhaps with the help of Diomox I will one day complete ascent of Island peak.

I can not properly express how completely satisfied I was with not only choosing MM. From the first days of constant emailing my questions and your patient responses but also from Day 1 at the airport seeing our guide Prakash ever smiling face to the sad day he took us back. It was the most wonderful experience and I honestly put that down to the team of Sherpas, guides, helpers - everyone at MM who made it a success and a special trip for me. I travelled last year with another much larger, non Nepalese based company and I really felt the difference this time around both in professionalism and in really getting to know Prakash and his team - and that was one of the major parts of my trip I will treasure for my life. These guys are local people who not only know the area so well but were just happy to share 3 weeks of their lives with us.

Although Mountain Monarch Adventures is recommended in the Lonely Planet guides first I was a little afraid about booking in Mountain Monarch, which was only a local travel agency in Kathmandu for me. I had two more ancient experiences in trekking holidays and I was always travelling with a catalonian travel agency located in Barcelona, however this time I bet for Mountain Monarch thanks to the advices that Pradip made me by e-mail before travelling. The treatment was perfect. The Mountain Monarch people professionalism, kindness and happiness are always besides you during your trip. I could compare the Mountain Monarch services during the trip with the services of other trekking companies in Nepal, even in Himalayas, even in Island Peak ascent, because you can meet a lot of friendly people there; I have to conclude that now I am proud of my decision and I am glad to meet new friends among Mountain Monarch people and among the other people who made the same booking. I would like to thank to Buddha, who was my acclimatization assistant and even my climbing guide, his friendly services. He was always positive. He is a friend. He is great! I am sure that I am going to come back to Nepal thanks to this experience and I would like to book again in Mountain Monarch. Allison and I joined Mountain Monarch for 6 weeks in Nepal. Our Everest Base Camp Trek was OUTSTANDING. I was extremely impressed with our guide English and his knowledge of the area. He really loves Nepal and took the time to show us so many things that the average trekkers over never gets to see. Like most AMERICANS we are concerned about the political unrest and the ongoing Maoist problems. There are NO Maoist in the Everest region and that area should be considered totally safe for tourists. ---------We also joined Mountain Monarch for an attempt of Island peak climbing; the Climbing Sherpas were exceptionally professional and treated us to a day of ice climbing. ------Overall I was 100% satisfied with Mountain Monarch, they treated us well and I will return again.

It is not easy finding a reliable agency to go trekking with in Nepal, since there are so many to choose from. I chose Mountain Monarch because it is a Nepali owned company that not only provides an excellent service, but also looks after its staff and their families! In spring 2007 I joined Mountain Monarch on a 23 day trek in the Khumbu including the climb of Island Peak. It was a wonderful experience and a trek I can highly recommend. I would chose Mountain Monarch again, because I enjoyed trekking in a small group and because I found their guides and porters to be friendly and professional. In that way not only was able to experience to beautiful landscape, but I also made new friends.

We would like to thank you and your team for such an amazing trip. We feel so lucky to have seen the Himalayas and to have had your assistance. The guides and Sherpas were so informative about the local areas and the mountain ranges and they were also lots of fun! We were very impressed with the medical training that the guides have and we really felt that we could trust them to look after us in the mountains. We would also like to say that the porters were so helpful and sweet natured. We will never forget our experience in Nepal and we would highly recommend Mountain Monarch to anyone who is interested in trekking in Nepal. We also enjoyed our time at the Hotel Shankar - it is nice to have a bit of luxury after such arduous trekking! It is great to stay in a good hotel that does not feel like a westernized chain. The hotel staff are very friendly and the hotel pool and garden is a welcome oasis of calm amongst all the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu.

Five friends and myself have used Mountain Monarch on two occasions now and both times they have given outstanding service. 0ur first trip was a trek to Mera Peak in October 2004, our most recent to Baruntse, a 7160-meter peak that was quite a serious expedition. They came highly recommended and have proved to be well organised, have top quality equipment and extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff who speak good English. They employ top quality guides, which makes all the difference. Their staff, even porters work for them year after year which I think says a lot.
