TREKKING : Gokyo Lakes Trek |
| |
|
High
alpine yak pasture, Sherpa culture
and sparkling glacial lakes in the
lap of Everest. |
This
Gokyo Lakes with Renjo pass trek is
considered as one the most excellent
& Picturesque less trodden trek
which unleash the magnificent views
of the snowy peaks. Trekking to the
high alpine Gokyo Lakes and a traverse
of Renjo - la links the stunning Gokyo
valley to the remote Bhote Koshi valley
makes this Gokyo Lakes trek a different
experience of trekking in Everest
region. Enjoying the Sherpa hospitality,
we ascend through the rhododendron
and conifer forest to the yak herders'
settlements of sacred lakes of Gokyo
and Gokyo Ri (5425m) to savor the
majestic views of Lhotse, Makalu,
Cho-Oyu, Everest and many more hovering
in horizon. A traverse onto the Renjo
La to the dramatic solitary Bhote
Koshi valley put you on the historical
trade route between Nepal and Tibet.
An exploration of less trekked Thame
valley unveils the unspoiled Himalayan
scenery and the trickle of Tibetan
refugees with their tragic plight.
Expect to encounter Tibetan traders
while retracing your way back to Namche
via the historical Himalayan settlement
of Thami.

We would
like to thank you and your team
for such an amazing trip. We feel
so lucky to have seen the Himalayas
and to have had your assistance.
The guides and Sherpas were so informative
about the local areas and the mountain
ranges and they were also lots of
fun! We were very impressed with
the medical training that the guides
have and we really felt that we
could trust them to look after us
in the mountains. We would also
like to say that the porters were
so helpful and sweet natured. We
will never forget our experience
in Nepal and we would highly recommend
Mountain Monarch to anyone who is
interested in trekking in Nepal.
We also enjoyed our time at the
Hotel Shankar - it is nice to have
a bit of luxury after such arduous
trekking! It is great to stay in
a good hotel that does not feel
like a westernized chain. The hotel
staff are very friendly and the
hotel pool and garden is a welcome
oasis of calm amongst all the hustle
and bustle of Kathmandu.
