Places to visit on your tour in Nepal

Swayambhunath:
It is believed that the Stupa was in existence from 2000 years back but the present Stupa is said to be built after the 14th century. Kathmandu Durbar Square:
It lies in the heart of the city. The locals of Kathmandu call Hanuman Dhoka as it is named after the monkey god. At the main entrance of the palace, one can see the statue of the god clad in red paint. It is in the world heritage site and has a history of 9/10th century at the time of king Gunakama dev, he was a true devotee of Kali, the goddess of terror and her main weapon is a sword. Patan Dubar Square:
It lies to the south-east of Kathmandu and is considered to be the oldest among the three cities of the valley. The layout of the square is in the form of a disk. The city is believed to be formed in the 3rd century called Lalitpur, the city of fine arts and crafts and it is separated from Kathmandu by the holy river Bagmati.

Pashupatinath:
It means the lord of all creatures and the god of gods. It is a World Heritage site and lies to the eastern side of Kathmandu on the banks of the holy river Bagmati. It has a history of the 5th/6th century but the present temple is built in the 16th century. It is one of the most popular and important Shiva shrines and must come temple for the Hinduism followers once in their lifetime.

Boudhanath

Bhaktapur Durbar Square:
Bhaktapur means the city of devotees is in the world heritage sites situated on the way to Tibet. It used to be the capital city of Kathmandu valley in the 15th century, in the time of King Yaksha Malla.

Nagarkot:
It is 32 km from Kathmandu and situated at an elevation of 2175m which gives an ample opportunity to view the towering mountain range standing before you. View starting from Dhaulagiri in the west to Mt. Everest and Kanchenjunga in the east via Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Shisapangma, Dorje Lakpa, and Gauri Shanker.

Panauti:
It is 36 km from Kathmandu and said that the whole town of Panauti is on a single rock. It is situated in the confluence of two rivers Roshi and Pungamati Khola. Every twelve years, there happen to be a big festival. Once, it was a trading route to Tibet and had a royal palace in its main square. It is still fascinating and alive in its traditional architecture with many interesting temples. Panauti going to be listed as a World Heritage site in near future.

Dhulikhel:
It is 32 km from Kathmandu and is situated at an elevation of 1550 m. The town is on the main Araniko highway heading towards Tibet. The natives of the town are Newars. On the weekend days, we can see a lot of people going to visit the temples around the town and uphill. It is a great place to view the mountain ranges.

Namo Buddha:
It is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site. A legend relates that the Buddha came across a tigress close to death from starvation and unable to feed her cubs. The Buddha allowed the hungry tigress to consume him. A marble tablet representing the event Trangho Gompa on the hill above the Stupa marks the holy site. Nowadays, it is becoming a popular destination for further studies in Buddhism and a beautiful site to view the Himalayan ranges.

Dakshinkali:
The temple of the Goddess Kali, the Tantric goddess of terror lies 28 Kms from Kathmandu, at the Southern edge of the Kathmandu Valley. In the confluence of two rivers. Devotees visit this temple each Tuesday and Saturday to make sacrificial offerings to appease the Goddess "Kali".Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the main sanctum. There is an open platform from where one can view the happening inside the temple.

Pharping:
It is a traditional Newari town which lies 19km from Kathmandu. Once, it was a get way to go away from the valley towards lowland. The site is a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists. There is a famous cave where guru Padmasamvav meditated in the 8th century, It is refreshing to climb the staircase leading to the top of the hill and the views of the Kathmandu valley are stunning. Most of the trees here have the fluttering prayer flags spreading positive energy offered by the devotees.

Chobar:
It is a Gorge from where Manjushri, the god of wisdom, emptied the water from the Kathmandu Valley, and it a getaway from the Bagmati river. To the southern part of the river lies an important shrine of Jal Binayak dedicated to Ganesh, the god of good luck.

Chitwan:
The jungle activities start: Canoe ride in the Rapti River, (a good opportunity to see Bird and two rare species of crocodiles; Marsh Mugger as well as fish-eating Gharial.) Jungle Walk and visit the elephant bathing center. Afternoon: Lunch. Tansen:
It is a beautiful hill station situated at an altitude of 1343m in height and a summer station for western Nepal. The panoramic views of the mountains from the Shreenagar Danda are stunning and refreshing, starting from Mt.Dhaulagiri in the west to Mt. Gaurisankar to the northeast. It is a historical Newari town with beautiful Pagoda style temples around it. The Nepali Dakka Topi (Nepali hat) from the Tansen is very famous.

Pokhara:
A peaceful lake city, we visit the Sarangko, Bindabasini temple, Mahendra cave, Seti river gorge, Davi's fall as well as we have time to do the boating on Fewa lake

Bandipur:
It is situated at an altitude of approx 1050m, a scenic place to view the Himalayan Panorama of the mountains. It is a traditional town with many Pagoda style temples, shrines, and stone sprouts.

Gorkha:
Gorkha is the birthplace of King Prithivi Narayan Shah the great, the founder of Modern Nepal. The Palace is situated on the top of the hill overlooking the peaks of the Himalayas. The palace is originally built by the king Ram Shah. The world-famous Gorkha soldiers come from this place. the steps to reach the Palace is a bit tiring after the drive but it worth going up as the views of the mountains are stunning and visiting the Palace with the most outstanding Nepalese architecture

Daman:
