Trek reviews of Everest base camp holidays in Nepal

“What an experience – it was my life-long dream to one day go to Everest Base Camp, and I can honestly say that were it not for the excellent services of Pradip, the owner of Mountain Monarch and it’s very professional and expert staff, I would never have made it. I am 73 years old, so I needed a lot of help in preparing for the trip, and also help along the difficult trail for a guy my age, but Netra, our guide and the rest of the porter team and Mountain Monarch made it happen for me, for which I will be ever grateful. Their constant words of encouragement, wise advice and expert guidance during the whole trek was invaluable. The trek itself was beautiful, and Netra and his team made it very enjoyable. Mountain Monarch gave me the best value for the price, which was already competitive, because a lot of things were included, such as transfer to and from the airport to the hotel, a half day tour of Kathmandu, duffle bag, warm parka, sleeping bag with liner, and all meals. When you add up all these extras, the cost savings can be hundreds of dollars. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mountain Monarch to my family and close friends, and indeed, everyone.”

Reliable Tour Company in Nepal – They go extra miles

Guildford East District Scout, UK has worked with Mountain Monarch on five occasions. In 2007 they organized a trek to Everest Base Camp. In 2009, 2011 & 2013 they assisted us in organizing and installing clean water supplies to a remote hillside villages and a bespoke trek in the Annapurna, Langtang and Solu Khumbu regions. At Easter this year 2015 they again assisted us in organizing and installing another clean water supply in a remote hillside village Gumda in the Lower Manaslu region and provided us another bespoke trek.

Mountain Monarch has exceeded all these requirements.
On all five of the expeditions. Their service before, during and after the expedition has been exemplary. Equipment provided for our use was of the highest quality. The dedication of the Trek Leaders and the Guides, to the wellbeing of all party members has been first class and we have been privileged to work with them.

From Pradip, the owner, to all of the guides and porters, the folks at Mountain Monarch were professional, kind and friendly from when we all met in Kathmandu through my 18-day group Everest circuit trek to our return to Kathmandu. The experience was one of the best of my life. They kept my group safe, healthy and happy for the duration of the trip, despite such risks that can harm any trekker as altitude sickness and food poisoning. As far as the overall cost of the trek, I found MM´s pricing to be quite competitive with that of their (many) competitors. I should also add that Pradip the owner was also nice enough to personally drop me off at the Kathmandu airport so I could catch a flight to my next destination of Bangalore.

I would definitely trek with MM again. In fact, I am hoping I can join them again for a new trek in the next three years, with my father joining me. I rarely post reviews, but am compelled to do so to spread the word on how impressive MM´s services are.

Highly appreciate Mountain Monarch for organising a very successful and fun filled trip to EBC. It was a wonderful and unforgettable experience which we had with our four Sherpa guides and three porters who were accompanying six individual trekkers all along.

Mr. Pradip, who is the owner is a nice and humble person. Things were well planned and arranged in advance including our stays to the very remote areas as well. These guys are also well equipped incase of medical emergencies. Overall experience is excellent and I would recommend MM for trekking in Himalayas.

During April 2014 me and my friends from Greece had an experience with Mountain Monarch in Nepal. We did Everest high passes and peaks with them….they are vey professionals…they are quick in answering all our strange questions….they are prompt…they are flexible….they have excellent staff….they have humour….they have Pradip…!!!
Just send them an e-mail…..you will soon understand what I mean by the word “excellent”.

I can’t recommend this trip and the Mountain Monarch team highly enough. At no time was anything a difficulty. From the collection at Katmandu Airport, the friendship offered by the guides and porters, the reorganisation to cater for sickness and injury on the trek to the drop off at the airport, everything went smoothly. Even to the point where departures which were changed or incorrectly booked. Mountain Monarch still catered for these changes.

Pradip (M.D.) Sunil (Head Guide) all the guides and porters thank you for the experience. If you want the best, forget the rest and give Mountain Monarch the test. You will not be disappointed

I booked with Mountain Monarch to trek to Everest Base Camp in November this year and I can honestly say that it was the most memorable trip of my life, I have visited the Alps in Italy and in Austria and Slovenia and also the mountains of the UK and Ireland but nothing compared to the trek I took with Mountain Monarch, the companies excellent reputation is well deserved for its professionalism and the care it takes to ensure its clients have a memorable and safe trip, I wish to say a huge thanks to Pradip and his team especially to Ram and Kumar whose help and guidance was first class, I would not hesitate to use Mountain Monarch again and I would strongly recommend them to anyone seeking out a first class company based in Nepal and with the best local knowledge of the Himalayas.Once again a huge thank you !!!!

Namaste Pradip, I am writing to let you know that a fantastic trek I had with your company and especially the great job of our guide Ngima Sarki Sherpa in getting me to Mt. Everest base camp. This adventure was my seventieth birthday present to myself and because of your company and Ngima outstanding guide skills, it was a complete success! Ngima was very professional and knowledgeable in so many aspect of trekking.

For example, when we got to the higher altitudes, I lost my appetite and could not eat. He always watched over my meals, persuaded me to try to eat a little more, or to take a few more bites, and son ensured that I could keep up my strength for climbing and trekking. Also I was a little self – conscious about slipping on rocks and falling, so I was being extra careful as we went up steep ascents or down deep descents.

Ngima stayed by my side, sometimes holding my arms, helping me cross wet rocks in streams and assisting me when climbing was very difficult to over loose rocks, When needed, he would have his assistance guide or porter help me as well.My friend trekking with me got headache as we gained higher altitude and Ngima was right there to help and he know just what to do , making sure she was warm and drinking enough water. She also got sick after eating some food and he watched after her and gave her medicines to ensure she could continue the trek.

He studies a lot of different subjects to prepare him to assist trekkers and I feel very lucky that I had someone so knowledgeable for my guide on the trek to Everest base camp. The assistant guide Nuru and the porter Pasang were also very friendly, caring and incredibly helpful. Ngima management to them and their individual enthusiasm and professionalism, made this trek run very smoothly no matter what circumstances we encountered: rain, sickness, forgotten pieces or gear or difficult terrain. When I trek again, I will absolutely use Mountain Monarch as well as ask for Ngima as my guide. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience

We had a wonderful trip to Nepal, in no small part due to the great help and assistance provided by the team at Mountain Monarch. In particular, we found them to be very responsive to requests, modifications and personalisation in relation to the trip. The team that accompanied us on the trek itself was equally helpful, friendly and professional. Highly recommended.
