Ama Dablam Expedition: Technical Climbing in the Himalayas

Ama Dablam Expedition offers a technical climbing experience. The colossal Amadablam, at 6812 m., is the most impressive peak. Due to its unique, sharp-pointed, and soaring shape, ascending this peak is the ultimate dream for climbers. Our itinerary maximizes every climber's chance to scale safely. In addition, it offers impeachable summit panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and many more Himalayan peaks.

The Amadablam expedition climb is technically demanding. It presents every supreme challenge imaginable on ice and rock scrambling. All climbers must have excellent rock and ice climbing skills. We follow the standard South West ridge route to the summit. This route is the safest, free from most dangers, such as avalanches.

Amadablam Climbing Route

Our Amadablam expedition itinerary is professionally designed. We hike around the hill or climb the trekking peak. This is for proper acclimatization and training before the summit push. Our expedition crews stock food and other required gear at base camp. This is the base station from which to start our bid to scale the summit. It has a wonderfully situated base camp in a meadow with a stream.

The challenging Ama Dablam climb begins at the southwest ridge from base camp. We climb over boulder fields, slabs, cairns, and gullies to reach Camp 1 at 5700 meters. From Camp 1, we follow the east side of the ridge to Camp 2. We climb on narrow crests and traverse to the most challenging pitch to Camp II. Then, we continue climbing the ridge to the excellent, tricky traverse eastward. We climb between the Grey Tower and other rocky structures. This route leads us to the Amadablam expedition Camp 3.

Summit Day

We start our Amadablam climb summit day push from Camp 2. We climb the southwest ridge to the summit. En route, we cross many obvious and deep crevasses. Then, we continue climbing the hill to the excellent, tricky traverse eastward. We climb between the Grey Tower and other rocky ridges. The joy and pride in conquering the Amadablam are beyond imagination. The summit reward is an outstanding, breathtaking, panoramic Mountain View. Ama Dablam's expedition cherishes the everlasting memories of a lifetime.

Day 14-27

It takes about two weeks to climb Ama Dablam Peak. Our climbing guide will customize and adjust the daily itinerary. We set up the climbing plan based on weather and fitness. During this climbing duration, we set up camp at three different places. We spend at least a day or night at each expedition camp.

We set up camp one at 5700 m after getting trained and acclimatized. We continue the climb to the steep slopes of the ridge. Here on this ridge, we set up camp two at 5900 meters. We ascend, scrambling over the rocks, snow, and ice to the famous mushroom ridge. Here, we set up the Amadablam expedition camp three at 6,300 meters. Typically, we don't spend a night on Camp 3.

We do some ups and downs on these three camps based on weather and fitness level. Great time to learn to use the climbing gear and polish your mountaineering skills.
