Annapurna sanctuary trek is one of the best teahouse trekking in Annapurna region to get into the high mountains amphitheater also known as Annapurna base camp. This trekking route to Annapurna sanctuary passes the varied climatic condition from sub tropical to alpine and accordingly the vegetation changes. Trekkers encounter many ethnic groups like an open museum to have first hand experience of country diverse people and culture.

After a short drive from Pokhara we start our trek to Annapurna sanctuary ascending gradually through the beautiful landscape of cultivated terraced field and lust forest of oaks, magnolia and mostly big and dense rhododendron trees. Early morning hikes to Poon hill (3210 meter) exhibit the best sunrise view on whole Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The combination of tiny thatched roofed villages set amongst the terraced fields on the backdrop of stunning mountain ranges makes this trekking to Annapurna sanctuary is one of the most picturesque treks.

Continuing the trek we follow along with the Modi Khola valley seeing the towering peaks and dizzyingly high rock walls with gushing waterfalls tumbling down into the roar of the river below. We ascend to Machhapuchhare base camp as the valley gets widen on the lateral moraine of Annapurna south glacier. The mountain views are simply wonderful from here: Hiunchuli, Annapurna south, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Macchapuchhare makes a fabulous panorama. Gradual 3 hours of further climb takes you to the Annapurna base camp, a vast spectacular natural alpine amphitheater of the Annapurna sanctuary – a wonderland surrounded by glistering peaks - a truly unforgettable Himalayan paradise.

Outline Itinerary of Annapurna Sanctuary Trek

Day 01 : Arrive in Kathmandu / welcome dinner.
Day 02 : Visit to Buddhist and Hindu shrines.
Day 03 : Drive to Pokhara / stay at hotel to start the Annapurna sanctuary trek.
Day 05 -06 : Trek to Ghorepani, exploration hike to POON HILL - great Himalayan vista
Day 07- 09 : Trekking to Macchapuchhare Base camp: enjoy the stunning Panomara.
Day 10 : Trek to Annapurna base camp / Annapurna sanctuary
Day 11-13 : Descend to Nayapul/ short drive to Pokhara / explore the lake city.
Day 14 : Fly to Kathmandu / PM free.
Day 15 : Annapurna sanctuary trekking end / Airport departure.
