Annapurna Dhaulagiri trek is less trodden and scenic community teahouse trekking into the heart of Annapurna.
Annapurna Dhaulagiri trekking is one of the best and scenic two weeks community based teahouse treks in Nepal; no where else you get such a rich feast of spectacular scenery, isolation and varied Himalayan culture. We stay at community run and manage lodges, whose profits directly benefit local schools and people. The trail passes through many traditional villages, beautiful forests and rarely trekked high alpine pastures, offering magnificent views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
On you arrival day in bustling Kathmandu, Mountain Monarch organizes an authentic Nepali welcome dinner with ethnic cultural program. We explore the sights and sounds of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley before we drive to the peaceful lakeside city of Pokhara. After a short drive to Nayapul we ascend slowly and steadily through the lust forest to Ghandruk and Tadapani, traditional ethnic settlements with simply the best stunning mountain profile of Annapurna and Machapuchare peaks. No doubt the combination of tiny thatched roofed settlement set amongst the terraced fields on the backdrop of stunning mountain ranges add more charm on this Annapurna Dhaulagiri trek. Once we leave Tadapani we enter into the remote and less trekked high alpine settlement of Bayeli, Dobato on our way to Kopra danda. Khopra ridge offer the incredible and probably the best view with the colossal ramparts of Dhaulagiri plunging to the misty depths of the Kali Gandaki - the deepest gorge in the world where as lofty peaks of Nilgiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna south dominates the North. We have a full day for the exploration hike from this Kopra ridge further up to the pristine Holy Kaire Lake situated beneath the awesome Fang Face of Annapurna 1, where ancient pilgrim trails lead to the sacred water.
We return different trail back to Ghorepani via Swant after a week long trekking to the isolated section of Annapurna Dhaulagiri community trek through open alpine pastures, oak and rhododendron forest. We hike Poon hill to capture panoramic of 8000 meter peaks of Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and many more other satellite peaks including Hiunchuli, Annapurna south and the fluted peak of Machhapuchhare, known as the fishtail as its distinctive summit shape. We descend to Nayapul thought Thirkhedhunga and then short drive to Pokhara to end the memorable teahouse trekking to Annapurna region.
