Nepal has welcomed 520 K Tourist in the first 6 month of 2018
The Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal has achieved 13 percent tourists’ arrival growth in the first six months of 2018 compared to the last year 2017. Department of Immigration recorded 520 K tourists arrival in the first six months of 2018 than the 460 k of the year 2017. The growth is consistently growing since 2016 after the massive earthquake hit on 25th April 2015.
An increase in the number of tourists’ arrival from India 96 K, China 71 K and USA 44 K are remarkable in growth. Nepal has basically two great touristic season Spring (March to May) and Autumn (Sept to December). Spring is normally great for the expedition like the Everest and other above 8000 meters peaks whereas Autumn is better for the trekking adventure and peak climbing of 6000 to 7000 meters peaks and normally there are more tourists visiting Nepal in the season of Autumn. Thus, there is an anticipation that the tourist arrival will likely to be increased around 20 % in this year 2018.
Nepal has set its big goal to welcome 2 million tourists by 2020. Without any doubt, Government and Tour operators need to work 24 hrs to achieve this nation’s target. The country’s Nepal airlines has already bought 2 wide body planes and due to get 2 more narrow body planes by 2019 to help the nation to get its goal. Similarly, many private airlines had added their fleets and new hotels are getting ready to meet the demand by 2020. Kathmandu International airport is being open for 21 hours with a plan to get operation around all hours in near future. Tourism Ministry of Nepal is also working hard to investigate the fake Helicopter Rescue which might have been taking place since few years in Nepal and Government is committed to bring up the truth and punished the culprits accordingly. It is widely believed that government action will be helpful to restore the country’s image and to double the tourist arrival in Nepal in the coming 3 years’ time.
