Amadablam Base Camp Trek - Less Trodden Picturesque Journey

Amadablam Base Camp Trek is one of the fascinating trips to the world's most beautiful and colossal peak of mt Amadablam. Undoubtedly this Ama Dablam Trek in the Everest region offers superb views of Mount Everest and unforgettable scenery of its base camp. Though the base camp of the stunning rise of Amadablam is on the Everest base camp trek route, not many trekkers have known about and visited it.

Trekking Route to Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek in Everest

We fly to Lukla (2827 meters) with spectacular views of the mountains, to start our Amadablam base camp trek. Furthermore, we hike through the Dudh Koshi valley to the Sherpa settlement of Namche Bazaar (3440 meters). Significantly we have separated 2-night stay at Namche for proper acclimatization and exploration. Furthermore, trekking through the lovely forest to the world-renowned and sacred monastery of Thyangboche is rewarding. It displays the stunning views of Everest soaring behind Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kangtega, and Tawache, making a panoramic Himalayan vista. Finally, we ascend from Pangboche to the alpine camp on the flanks of the base camp of Amadablam. This is away from the popular trail to savor the Himalayas' wonder. The traditional Sherpa village of Khumjung shows you the Sherpa lifestyle and so-called Yeti scalp in a monastery.

                      Absolutely Amazing

Have nothing but great things to say about Mountain Monarch! I recently completed a 15-day trip with them to Annapurna Base Camp / Sanctuary. The trip was absolutely amazing, mainly due to the fantastic guides and porters with Mountain Monarch.

Guides:
The guides (we had one head guide and three assistant guides [+the four porters] for our eight-person group) were excellent. Good English, great experience and credibility, and very fun to get to know! They managed our group very well (with different levels of fitness) so that there was always a guide nearby. The porters were excellent and friendly and always arrived at the teahouse before we did.

Equipment: The guides traveled with an extensive medical kit, which surpassed my expectations. They also provide ponchos, sleeping bags, down jackets, etc. I did not need any of these and brought my own, but the quality looked pretty decent. You get to keep the duffel bag at the end of the trip. Note: the duffel bag is not waterproof. The porters cover it when it rains, but some may leak through, so be sure to “waterproof” (e.g., wrap it in plastic/seal it in bags) anything important.

Teahouses: While all teahouses have relatively simple accommodations, I thought Dawa and our guides did an excellent job selecting nicer places. For the busier locations, an assistant guide went ahead to secure rooms (which is really important during high season).
Communication: Before and during the trip, communication was very good. Pradip answered all of my questions before the trip. The night before our start, we met with our head guide, Dawa, who gave an “orientation” to answer our key questions. Each night on the trail, Dawa gathered us together post-dinner to discuss the next day’s events. I thought the communication far exceeded expectations.

Hope this helps anyone who is thinking about going with Mountain Monarch. I was considering this company vs. many other international companies (often at a much higher price tag), and I can categorically say that I would select Mountain Monarch again for my next trip over any other options I considered. Happy travels!

                      Mountain Monarch is number one!

I have experienced adventure travel worldwide and used many local agents to organize private tours and treks. What can I say? Mountain Monarch is number one! Not only did Pradip and his team meet our expectations – they surpassed them – and by a long way! There was never a doubt that the priority for our guide CP, along with our Sherpas (Prakash, Ram, Sange, and Lakpa Sherpa), was to ensure we enjoyed every minute of our experience. They could not have done more from when we woke up to when we retired to bed. Their in-depth local knowledge, coupled with their professionalism, but most of all their sense of fun, created an experience my friends and I will never forget. We intend to return to Nepal and will definitely be using Mountain Monarch!

                      Excellent Team

I went on a trek to Ama Dablam Basecamp with Mountain Monarch. I only experienced the highest levels of care and support, the assistants did a brilliant job looking after us, and the cook team was excellent. A few problems were out of our control, such as canceled flights, but the MM team did an excellent job of reorganizing, and we still completed the whole trip on time. As well as taking care of food and our general well-being, they carry a big medical kit and limit the amount of weight each porter carries to help look after their health. I would recommend going on a trip with them, as you will have a brilliant time.
