Langtang Heritage Trek- Combination of Tamang Heritage with Kenjin Gompa

This Langtang Heritage Trek is a specially designed off-the-beaten trail that highlights an ancient rich Tamang cultural heritage trail combining it with the picturesque scenery of the secret Langtang valley. A previously restricted region near the Tibetan border, the unexplored northern Langtang valley has recently been developed into the Langtang Tamang Heritage Trail. The people in this area are primarily of Tamang, Tibetan origin, whose culture and crafts have remained unchanged. All these craftsmanship, dress, traditionally built stone households and beautifully carved wooden porches reflect the solitude and the serenity of the Himalayan scenery.

Having explored the cultural heritage sites in Kathmandu valley, we drive to Syabrubesi to start our Langtang heritage trek. We pass many traditional settlements and monasteries that have remained unchanged. Panoramic views of Mt. Langtang, Kerung, and Ganesh Himal are stunning. A fort at Rasuwagadi is a historical reminder of the Nepal-Tibet relationship that has existed for many centuries. A unique arrangement of Homestay programs at some places enhances the cultural experienced. Thus allowing you to have close interaction with the local people, which is rare on a regular trekking route. Finally, we drive back to Kathmandu to end the memorable Langtang heritage trek.

    The Best Trek

My husband and I decided to do the Langtang /Heritage Region vs. the more popular Everest & Annapurna treks, and we haven't regretted it since! Our guide was knowledgeable and catered to our needs, and the locals were friendly and welcoming! The 1st part of the trek was a heritage trail, where we saw less than 50 tourists but still had spectacular views! In the 2nd part of the trek, we went to the more famous Langtang region, where the earthquake in 2014 hit the hardest. There were more people, but we met many friendly tourists on the way! I would recommend the Langtang region & Mountain Monarch to anyone considering a trip to Nepal!

Thank you for your personal attention and hospitality

Everything was handled with great efficiency, and you and your staff could not have been kinder and more helpful to us. The trek itself was first class and enabled us to see a great variety of the tremendous scenery that Nepal has to offer and meet the very friendly people of Nepal.

I would not hesitate to recommend your firm to anyone looking to make a trek in Nepal. Once again, thank you for your personal attention and hospitality while we were in Nepal.
