This was my first trip with Mountain Monarch and my first trip with a trekking company. Before this, my mountaineering arrangements had been made by myself and my climbing partner.

So into the unknown. Well, I need not have worried. From the first contact with Pradip to the end of the trip at the airport, I have looked after them. If I go to Nepal again, and hope to, I will definitely use Mountain Monarch. The team going to Mera and onwards to Island Peak was very well organized, with good tents and sound equipment, and lots of tea to drink. The food was good, but after a while, I got a little tired of the same, so next time I will take along lots of energy drinks and energy bars. It's what I'm used to.

The trip to Mera was beautiful, and as we took an out-of-the-way route, we had plenty of time to acclimatize. I was speechless, however, when I got to the top Of Mera after an early morning call.

What a stunning view. I went to take some photos only to find that my camera had stopped working. Blast. So if the other team members read this, please get in touch with Pradip if you have some photos you would like to send me. I'm sure he will pass on my e-mail address.

I spent over one month in Oct 2014 trekking in the Solukhumbu regions of Nepal with MMA and their excellent guide, C P. This is my third trek with MMA. My experiences have always been beyond my expectations. The company is professional, reliable, flexible, experienced, and always puts safety first.

They take care of every detail. I have observed countless other companies and their guides, and I can say without any reservations that MMA and C.P., in particular, are the best. If you want an experience that goes beyond the basics, one that exposes you to Nepal's people, culture, and religions, not just the mountains, then MMA is a clear choice.

We recently returned from the Annapurna Dhaulagiri Trek, our 2nd Trek with MM. From the first emails, which Pradip manages to answer quickly despite the time difference, all details of the trek are managed for you, from airport pickup and drop off, to all accommodation and transport to and from the trek starting point, be it private car or flight. While on the trek, the guides will ensure that the food is prepared correctly and that the water is boiled and safe to drink.
We had two delightful days in Kathmandu before our trek with Ram, who guided us on a day hike and cultural tour; he is very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. Our two porters were always on hand if needed. Thanks again to Nima, who guided us last year, and Jay, our 2nd guide, for their patience and encouragement. We know we are in good hands, and our safety and well-being are prioritized. Thanks again to Pradip, who makes it all happen.
We are already thinking about returning to Nepal next year and will, of course, use MM.

" This is my 2nd trip with Mountain Monarch, and the experience was outstanding. The trip included climbing Mera & Island peaks and crossing the Amphu Laptsa Pass. For anyone looking for a different type of adventure in Nepal, this is the trip for you! Including the Amphu Laptsa Pass was definitely one of the trip's highlights. It takes you off the main trekking routes, away from the more crowded trails. During this section of the journey, the views were outstanding, and we did not encounter any other trekking groups, which in peak season is a rarity. So for those who want a real adventure, this trip is for you.

As far as Mountain Monarch goes, I have to take my hat off to them. The owner Pradip is extremely helpful and answers any queries you have promptly. His guides, cooks, and porters go out of their way to ensure you have the best experience possible during your trip. Mountain Monarch is a very organized company; you can tell they really care about their guests. The trip was very efficient, and you could tell that they really thought about our needs. The guides and porters were all really friendly and it was great to spend time with them and get to know more about them and their culture. The trip was a fantastic experience; many fabulous, diverse activities were crammed into a small space. I will remember the experience for many years to come.

Mountain Monarch Trekking & Climbing Company operating out of Kathmandu, is definitely the leading company offering SAFE & RESPONSIBLE trekking throughout the Himalayas. This year alone, I have been associated with this company twice.

Once in July for the difficult trek into the Kingdom of Mustang for the unique TIJI festival, which is limited in numbers of foreigners allowed into this special Tibetan area & then recently in Sept/Oct for the adventure of a lifetime trek up to Everest Base Camp. This can be a difficult & arduous trek up to 5500m, but Mountain Monarch can encourage & ensure ALL of their clients can make this trek.


One of the few companies that carry a Gamaw Bag and Oxygen for quick oxygen resuscitation & all Sherpas are highly trained in High Altitude Recognition & Medicine. Much of the big-ticket equipment items are catered for with this company at NO extra cost, Puff Jackets, Sleeping Bag & Polar Tec Inner liner, Trekking Poles, Waterproof Trek bag for the porters to carry with all your gear & great training T Shirt (the last two you get to keep). Unbelievable Great trekking cost, eliminating the vast “middleman” profits.

I completed EBC and Kalapathar Gokyo and Chola pass trek with Mountain Monarch and had a great time. They go the extra mile to ensure you are always comfortable and safe. I found Pradip always available on the phone and efficient and pleasant before, during, and after the trip.

This Nepal Everest trek is breathtaking but be prepared to do without creature comforts. Accommodation is basic throughout, although this is representative of choice in that region. Mountain Monarch has good contacts with tea houses, so availability was not a problem. The guide I recommend most is Vivek, a total gem. One of the best guides I’ve met so far and an early-morning Tai Chi expert! Water was boiled and sterilized for us; food was pretty good – mainly vegetarian with egg and a little monotonous at times. Again – representative of food in the region.

Be prepared to be overwhelmed with fantastic scenery, experiences, and friends en route. A must-do, and I”m thinking of going back next year for more with Mountain Monarch!

I highly recommend Mountain Monarch for trekking in the Himalayas. The company was very professional, and Pradip was very helpful before the trek by answering questions via email promptly and organizing further travel plans after the trek. The sleeping bags and down jackets provided were super warm (and I am from North Queensland, where it is summer all year round). The guides and porters were fantastic, always putting safety first and very knowledgeable about the local area. A very friendly team that I will use again for my next Himalayan Adventure.
