    Mind Blowing Trek

Have just come back from a mind-blowing trek around the Khumbu region, covering Renjo la, Chola, Gokyo, Kalapattha, and Everest base camp. Pradip and all the guides and porters were both heaps of fun and incredibly helpful with anything you needed. Shouts to Nima, Finjo, Mingma, and both Ram!

Everything you can think of is included at a very reasonable price. Including four nights of accommodation in a hotel in Kathmandu (2 prior and two after the trek), all your food and accommodation on the tour, and the full attention and help of all the staff. I had trouble withdrawing money before the time, so Pradip lent me 20,000 rupees to get me through it, which was a life-saving offer

I’d highly recommend going with mountain monarch rather than another company or on your own, as their generosity and hospitality seemed unmatchable!

    Mountain Monarch is number one!

I have experienced adventure travel worldwide and used many local agents to organize private tours and treks. What can I say? Mountain Monarch is number one! Not only did Pradip and his team meet our expectations – they surpassed them – and by a long way! There was never a doubt that the priority for our guide CP, along with our Sherpas (Prakash, Ram, Sange, and Lakpa Sherpa), was to ensure we enjoyed every minute of our experience. They could not have done more from when we woke up to when we retired to bed. Their in-depth local knowledge, coupled with their professionalism, but most of all their sense of fun, created an experience my friends and I will never forget. We intend to return to Nepal and will definitely be using Mountain Monarch!

    Well Organised Trek

I would highly recommend to anyone wishing to trek in the Nepal region to use the services of Mountain Monarch and the excellent team that supports all treks and activities.

As this was my second trip with MM, the previous being the High passes and peaks (2010), Pradip and his team of professionals provided a truly remarkable and unforgettable experience from the very first email to the send-off at the airport and which we will all have lifelong memories of our experience in the Nepal region. I cannot thank MM enough for a well-organized trek.

Our recent trip to the Annapurna circuit and Tilicho Lakeside trip (6 trekkers) again was excellent, with outstanding communication and well-organized from Pradip and his team, and the side trip to Tilicho Lake was a highlight of the trip.

Our team of Netra (leading guide), Ram, Jeet, and Jaya (asst guides), Dill, Cous, and Saban (porters) provided an incredible job in looking after all of our needs and providing a safe trek, especially over the Landslide areas on the way to Tilicho base camp and over the pass. So often humorous and informative, we all enjoyed the team's company and forged friendships along the way, which made for a truly unforgettable experience.

All equipment provided was first class and in good order, and food along the way was ample and sufficient, with one of our team requiring a special diet which was well catered for. In addition, their recommendations of what to eat above certain heights helped our acclimatization along the trek.

From start to finish, our team would like to congratulate MM for an incredible job. I personally would never use another company for future treks in Nepal and would not hesitate to recommend MM to anyone who wishes to Trek in Nepal or the other countries they provide services.
I have trekked in a lot of countries, and no other company has provided the communication and responses that Pradip has delivered, which made the trekking experience one of the most enjoyable our team has experienced, so again, Pradip and the whole group of MM – well done and keep up the excellent work.

    The trip was well organised

We made a trip to Mera Peak with Mountain Monarch in November 2013. The trip was well organized, and we really enjoyed our time. The trip allowed plenty of time for acclimatization, which helped me succeed in climbing the summit. Prakash's leading guide spoke excellent English and did a fantastic job. Equipment was fully sufficient and often brand new. The food was excellent, especially considering the remote locations. Pradip, the manager, was always available in Kathmandu and took great care of everyone. One recommendation for anyone climbing Mera Peak: take some proper mittens. Even the best gloves could fail in a strong wind and leave you with frostbite. A pair of Nepali-brand down mittens is around $10 in Thamel and worth every penny)

    Excellent Job

Mountain Monarch is to be commended for providing a world-class adventure. They did an excellent job with the pre-planning communication, transportation coordination, culture tour, trek briefings, and the actual trek. Throughout the trip, there was no doubt that they were, first and foremost, focused on the trekker's safety. At higher altitudes, your well-being is in their hands. Their program is designed and executed to provide their clients with safe acclimatization. Well done, and special thanks to our trek guide Aakash (tail name "Boss"), and his staff. What a pleasure to deal with local Nepalese who know their business. Thanks.

    Truly Memorable Journey

Our Nov 2013 trek to EBC was a truly memorable journey that will stay with us for a lifetime. Pradip and his team at Mountain Monarch did an incredible job from our first inquiries until our farewell at KTM. We were very fortunate to have the support of a wonderful Guide (Sunil) and Asst Guide (DK) and three incredible (and strong!) porters, Santosh, Purna, and Tek. The scenery was incredible, and the care and attention afforded us by Sunil and DK every step of the way was exceptional. We feel very fortunate to have experienced and learned so much about Nepal's wonderful people and culture. Thanks for a fantastic journey, Mountain Monarch!

    Well Planned Trek

I chose Mountain Monarch for a trekking trip to Mera Peak in Nov 2013 due in part to their well-planned itinerary, which allowed for sound acclimatization and their experience at higher altitudes. In remote conditions, their team did not let us down. Experienced guides with very good English who communicated well and were attuned to our well-being and safety. All bases were covered, including an additional oxygen tank and PAC bag.

Pradip, the MD of MM, was always available to assist in Kathmandu, and the guides on the trek, led by Prakash, were friendly and always there to ensure we have looked after. All camping, trekking, and climbing equipment provided was of good quality. The kitchen team provided ample food and varied it as best they could. A few surprises (cakes, hamburgers, chips) along the way brightened the most challenging day.

All in all, I was very pleased with Mountain Monarch. They provided everything they said they would, but most of all got us to the top and back safely. I highly recommend them.

    Professional and Friendly Team

I have nothing to say but awesome things about Mountain Monarch. From the beginning, it was very clear we were dealing with a professional and friendly team. It was my first time trekking in Nepal, and my expectations were absolutely exceeded.

Big thank you to Pradip for his clear and prompt communication from the start. No question went unanswered, and my mind was put at ease very quickly—absolutely professional. Moreover, despite leaving Nepal over a week after our trek and leaving from another location in Kathmandu, Pradip organized an airport transfer for us with no hassle.

There was plenty of advice from the team regarding the equipment we would need before leaving to ensure we had a trouble-free and warm trek. The equipment they supplied (down jacket, sleeping bag, rain poncho, etc.) was reliable and high-quality. A pre-trip meeting answered all of our final concerns, and we were left feeling very excited about the trip ahead!

Our guides – lead guide Dawa and assistant guides Dawa and Bhakta – were the most professional, patient, and caring guys you could meet… always looking out for us during the day and relaxing with us at night, having dinner, playing cards or having a chat. They allowed us to go at our own pace, which was enjoyable, but they also encouraged and supported us to reach the highest points and all our personal goals on the trek. They took into account every person's limitations and did everything in their power to ensure we returned safe and healthy. They briefed us on what to expect each day regarding walking time, altitude gain, lunch stops, etc., so there were no surprises, and we were always mentally prepared. Despite being incredibly efficient and professional, their easy-going, fun, and caring attitudes made sure our misfit bunch of strangers morphed into one big family very quickly. Our trek was all the more fun because of it.

The medical equipment and medications that MM carry on each of their treks are second to none… giving us pain/altitude/eye drop medication as we needed it and also having a compression tube and an oxygen cylinder should any of us get acute altitude sickness (thanks for keeping us healthy!!!). I felt thoroughly looked after and safe due to our guide's knowledge of the mountains, weather, common illnesses, and altitude sickness. In addition, the staff at MM have a great deal of experience in trekking.

I am already planning my return to Nepal and have no doubts that I will look no further than my new friends at MM when planning my next trek. I can not say thank you enough for an unforgettable adventure, and my advice to anyone planning on trekking anywhere in Nepal is to email MM now. You will not be sorry.

Experienced management and guides, excellent training

For details about the trek reviewed, visit this website: https://www.mountainmonarch.com/annapurna-dhaulagiri-trek. Our group chose Mountain Monarch Adventures because they are a Nepali company with experienced management and guides, excellent training, and prompt responses when we asked questions during the planning stages of our trip. Communications were amazing, and knowledge and customer care were evident from the start. We participated in the 15 days Annapurna-Dhaulagiri Trek in November 2013.

Mountain Monarch took excellent care of everyone in our group, from meeting us at the airport to cultural tours, to dealing with our individual abilities day to day, and to providing extra care when one person needed to leave the group for medical attention and getting us back to the airport at the end. We thank Pradip for excellent planning, Karma, Ramesh, Jai, Ram, Sita, and Pasang for their care of all of us during the trek, and another Ram for our cultural tours. Thanks also to our drivers whose names I didn’t catch.

I would especially like to compliment these folks for keeping the group together, answering many questions, accommodating personal differences in abilities, looking out for our safety, and making alternative plans when our planned safari wasn’t possible due to election-related disturbances. The trek allowed us to see some of the popular trekking routes in the Annapurna region and then to get “off the beaten path” into less busy areas where we were on small trails, could see wildlife, and enjoy nature without the crowds. The tea houses we stayed in were basic yet friendly and comfortable and served plentiful simple meals. Mountain Monarch provided warm sleeping bags and down jackets which were helpful at higher elevations. Their staff appeared to be adequately supplied also.

I would recommend this company to anyone who travels in Nepal, Tibet, or Bhutan. They offer various treks, mountain expeditions, and tours and will provide appropriate staff for your adventures.

    Safety and care were excellent

We recently returned from an Annapurna Panorama Trek organized by Mountain Monarch and would give them full marks for the overall experience. Pradip was excellent in promptly answering our many questions both before our trip and also after we arrived in Kathmandu.
The trek was more challenging than we anticipated, but the safety and care were excellent and above the call of duty, especially from our leader Krish. Everything was sorted to the last detail, and we would not hesitate to recommend Mountain Monarch to other people or use them again in the future.
